A sad day for America....
So I am generally not an outspoken person about politics, in fact I didn't even take the time to vote but I have to say I am saddened by the outcome of the elections. How is it that the individual who is our president is anti-American and anti-Christian? I think it is sad how much emphasis has been placed on the color of his skin when in reality it is irrelevant the color of his skin, and the areas of extreme relevancy i.e. morals and character seem to have nothing to do with why this man was elected. Now I am in no circles a huge supporter of McCain but at least he had morals and he did serve our country. I was greatly disappointed in McCain when I would watch the debates and he would waste half of his time trying to convince everyone how ignorant and inexperienced Obama was. This damaged my view of him greatly. Anyone who has the need to put others down just to make themselves look good has very poor character. So you can see the elections this year seemed to be based on the lesser of two evils. So you may be saying how can I possibly complain when I didn't even vote. I hear ya, but I also know that my vote made no difference. Living in Utah and it being predominately republican I knew the "popular" vote would be swayed that way. And since I am not apart of the electoral college, well I don't think my vote was missed. Anyway I am done with my soapbox and I am stepping down the stairs, but sluggishly after such sad news as who has been named our next president.
Hooked on Phonics worked for me!!!
So I must blog about the most recent ridiculous event that has happened in my life. Henry dropped off his wedding ring last Saturday at the jewelers to have it re sized because it kept falling off of his finger. I thought I would be sneaky and surprise him by getting it engraved while it was there. So I called over there and the high school girl that helped us before answered the phone and took down the engraving. So Henry goes to pick up his ring and calls me to ask if "always" is supposed to have two L's. At first I thought he was kidding but sure enough, the engraving that was supposed to say "Love you Always 9-30-08" in fact said "Love you Allways 9-30-08". Henry also told me that the jeweler tried to convince him that Always had two L's in it before he left the jewelers. Now we can do nothing but laugh about it and luckily we didn't get charged for the engraving. After I thought about it I realized I do love Henry in All Ways so I guess it can just have a double meaning.
